Full Body 4D Massage Chairs
A full body massage chair works the neck, back, hips, arms, calves and feet in one session. Chairs with 4D massage rollers let you adjust depth, speed and rhythm, and most include a long list of pre-programmed massage modes alongside manual controls for each area.
Zero Gravity Massage Chairs
Zero gravity settings tilt the seat back and raise your legs, so your weight rests evenly across the chair. Many models offer one to three reclined positions. The recline angle and the space needed behind the chair vary by model, so check both before you order.
Dual-Mechanism Chairs
Dual-mechanism, or duo, chairs use two separate roller sets, one for the upper back and one for the lower back and seat, so two areas can be worked at the same time. These chairs usually sit in the upper price range.
Compact Massage Chairs

How to Compare Massage Chairs
The right massage chair fits your body, your room and the massage feel you enjoy, which is not always the chair with the longest feature list. Start with these three checks.
Massage Feel
Compare gentle, balanced and firm pressure. Labels such as 3D or 4D will not tell you how a chair feels on your back, so sitting in two or three chairs side by side is the quickest way to learn your preference.
Body and Room Fit
Check shoulder height, leg length, footrest fit and seat width first. Then measure the room, including the clearance the chair needs to recline, and the doorways, halls and stairs on the delivery path.
Ownership
Compare the current price, delivery and setup, the manufacturer warranty and how service is handled. A chair you plan to use every day should be simple to operate and straightforward to support for years.
Massage Chair Features Explained
Feature names vary by manufacturer, so confirm the exact specifications on each product page before you decide.
3D and 4D Rollers
3D massage rollers add depth control, so the massage can press deeper or softer. 4D chairs also change speed and rhythm, although the result differs from chair to chair. Compare 2D, 3D, 4D and 5D chairs.
L-Track and SL-Track
The track is the path the rollers follow. An L-track runs from the neck down under the seat, while an SL track adds an S-curve that follows the spine. Track length matters, but roller design and programming matter just as much.
Massage Techniques and Programs
Most chairs combine several massage techniques, such as kneading, tapping, rolling and shiatsu-style pressure. Auto programs mix these into a set routine, while manual modes let you choose the technique, area and speed yourself.
Body Scanning
Many chairs scan your back before a program starts and set the roller height for you. Scans are not always exact, so check that you can fine-tune the shoulder position by hand.
Heat, Air Compression and Calf Massage

My wife and I have been looking at Massage Chairs on line for quite some time. Everything I've read, said to go out and try several to see what is the best fit, comfort and price.
Today, we went to House of Massage Chairs and met with Henry Ipek. He showed us numerous massage chairs to find out what was the best fit for us. I think we probably tried 10 different chairs while we were in the store.
Finally, my wife and I finally agreed on one chair that we both loved. It wasn't the chair I came in for or saw on line, but it was 10X better. We spent a little more than we initially wanted to, but when you figure this is going to last us a long time, we went ahead and pulled the trigger.
